Product Management, Data Program Overview

• Act as a business owner to develop, manage, and execute the long-term and short-term innovation roadmap to unlock incremental value for Mastercard Data & Services via new and improved Data Programs and related solutions

• Build revolutionary Data Programs and associated products that advance how businesses all over the world derive the most value from new and existing data assets

• Set Data Program direction with coordination, not isolation—considering how our data, technology, and products all work together to serve customer needs

• Act as an influential connector to ensure commercial and technological success of our programs and related products by working with cross-functional teams (e.g., Franchise, Technology teams, Data Strategy, Sales and Marketing)

• Develop new program/product concepts, manage roadmaps, establish commercial strategies, build business cases, manage and influence key stakeholders, optimize programs and resources, and manage related PandL.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Vice President, Product Management, Data Programs to develop and deliver on a robust vision, strategy and roadmap for Data Program Innovation to unlock incremental value for Mastercard Data & Services and our network participants (e.g. issuers, acquirers, merchants).

• Lead success definition, own and drive working backwards from vision and strategy, defining short and long term goals, and ensuring appropriate documentation to help inform the direction of success of the program

• Drive innovation strategy with a technology strategy that supports rapid development of scaled enterprise software products

• Drive tangible data-driven business outcomes, designing and executing POCs in partnership with relevant cross functional teams across the organization, iterating and optimizing based on learnings, and developing business cases to quantify potential upside and to support any necessary investments

• Define and organize the work across a complex matrixed environment, outlining key objectives and roles/responsibilities, defining business requirements, setting priorities, defining success KPIs and milestones, driving progress against timelines, and holding relevant teams accountable

• Develop strong working relationships with a diverse group of internal stakeholders, navigating across cultures and geographies to gain support for program enhancements and to increase value of the program:

o Establish strong relationships with key cross functional partners including Franchise and P&E to successfully leverage the power of our network to unlock new data assets and to improve the assets we currently have at scale

o Work with the regional teams to identify and deliver on opportunities and to ensure program success with a robust customer support, communications plan, and feedback plan

o Motivate and direct cross-functional teams, leveraging trust-based relationships to deliver an efficient operating model, create the appropriate sense of urgency, enable seamless deployment of POCs and eventually products, and deliver great overall customer experience

• Identify issues, risks, and dependencies and develop mitigation plans

• Create compelling communications for Senior and Executive Management to define the innovation roadmap and to showcase the value of the Data Programs and ensure ongoing support for program enhancements and associated investments

• Mentor, develop, and foster the skills of other team members

• Emulate and drive Mastercard Way behaviors through behavior, recognitions, coaching, and employee engagement.

• Organizational skills and project management: Proven ability to manage and successfully deliver projects in a matrix environment with multiple and competing priorities, structure and manage work streams, and set clear expectations and deadlines

• Accountability: Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy and with a strong attention to detail and quality

• Communication and Influencing skills: Excellent influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity

• Analytic and strategic mindset: analytical, curious, strong problem-solving skills, using a fact-driven approach to program management, ability to interpret and synthesize data, pressure test and validate hypothesis, and challenge the status quo

• Relationship Building and Executive Presence: Demonstrated experience building organizational relationships, partnering with and influencing executive leadership while commanding the respect of the individual product practitioners across the organization

• Technical judgement: Ability to understand the reasons behind architectural decisions and to use technical judgment to challenge and validate assumptions, enlisting engineering support to vet architecture as required

• Collaborative team player: proven track record in collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams; exceptional in facilitating challenging conversations and managing ambiguity

• Experience in consulting / product management / product development / software engineering preferred

• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
