Overview

Technology Risk Management (TRM) is a key component of Mastercard's three lines of defence model, enabling first-line technology risk management through implementation of risk and control methodology and best practices, control advisement and monitoring, and assurance to external stakeholders (i.e., regulators and customers).

The Role

The Vice President, Technology Risk Governance is responsible for the development and integration of first-line Technology with enterprise-wide risk framework and related governance mechanisms.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the continued enhancement of existing technology risk framework including policies/standards, procedures, process, and governance in alignment with Three Lines of Defence transformation efforts

• Enable execution against defined framework requirements by the First and Second Lines of Defence

• Support First Line on technology metric development (i.e., KRIs) to ensure alignment and embedding of Mastercard’s Risk Appetite Framework

• Drive technology risk governance across the enterprise, demonstrating connectivity to markets, products, and services; cascade firm-wide risk governance principles and standards into underlying policies and processes

• Develop and implement a risk assessment service to drive technology risk and control owner accountability and support decision making

• Establish, maintain, and monitor reporting of material risk to relevant governance committees; manage team responsible for governance forums and senior management committees

• Deepen internal networks across the enterprise and within TRM – Controls Solutions & Monitoring, Stakeholder Assurance, and Tech Risk Engagement & Partnership – to ensure alignment across Three Lines of Defence and with external stakeholder guidance (i.e., regulators and customers)

• Relevant experience in risk management or closely related areas

• Strong experience in risk governance and frameworks, preferably in the banking and/or regulatory sector

• Problem solving skills, sound business judgment, and demonstrated result orientation

• Results-proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation

• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

• Risk mindset with ability to think outside the box and affect change across the organization

• Displays a leadership presence and ability to earn trust

• Collaborative and team-oriented work style

• Experience managing a global and diverse team

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
