Title and Summary

Director, Software Engineer, Data & Services - Scalable & Integrated Solutions

The Analytics & Consulting Technology (ACT) program group is comprised of 6+ programs that support Mastercard’s Data Insights & Analytics, and Consulting & Innovation business lines. We partner with product teams to design and develop best-in-class data solutions, interactive applications, and platforms that allow merchants, acquirers, and customers to analyze, benchmark, and forecast their current and future performance.

We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead the development and architecture of an aggregated set of services and capabilities across existing and new ACT products and features. These services and capabilities allow clients to have one access point and, in the future, further interoperability across these products, including the potential development of a fit-for-purpose platform.

This new effort, called Principal Member Services, will equip issuers with a minimum set of services required to operate efficiently and effectively in the payments ecosystem. It also provides value-added service capabilities to help further accelerate issuer business performance. This effort will follow a regional roll-out plan as defined by product partners and will continue to be enhanced from a technology perspective over time. The role will lead and guide all technical aspects, including design, elaboration of requirements, product integration, and technical execution.

Role

- Lead the development, architecture, and technical execution of Mastercard Principal Member Services.

- Partner with product teams to design and develop best-in-class data solutions, interactive applications, and platforms that allow merchants, acquirers, and customers to analyze, benchmark, and forecast their current and future performance. Must ensure all data governance and data policies are thoughtfully adhered to.

- Work across many global products and programs leveraging both a technical and product lens to determine a fit-for-purpose, phased solution.

- Collaborate with the Commercial Lead (the Engineering Lead will have a dotted-line relationship) and influence appropriate technical outcomes across multiple product and engineering teams.

- Initially, this role will not have direct reports. Over time, you may have the opportunity to lead a team primarily comprised of Lead Engineers and Technical Program Managers starting this year.

- Based out of Arlington, Dublin, or London in a hybrid schedule and reporting to the SVP & Engineering Program Group Co-Founder for the ACT Program of Data & Services (D&S).

All About You

- Extensive experience in technical program management, stakeholder management, communication across business lines, vendor management, negotiation of priorities, and phased road mapping.

- Ability to influence and execute future technical design across products, programs, and stakeholders.

- Prior experience working with global consulting, sales, and product stakeholders is a must.

- Must have experience developing platform architectures and integrating across different platforms and technologies.

- Must have experience developing scalable web-based solutions.

- Must have advanced skills in sizing technical efforts, developing relevant architectures, and design documentation across products with various maturity levels.

- Must be exemplary in strategic communication to non-technical and technical audiences.

- Experience with D&S Tech Products and Services is a plus.

- Experience working with and vetting solutions with Security, Data Privacy, and Architecture teams is also a plus.
