Vice President - FHA Closing Team Lead

We are currently seeking a Team Lead for the FHA Loan Closing department. The FHA Loan Closing department is responsible for closing multifamily and healthcare loans under the HUD-insured programs. The Closing team is responsible for all aspects of the closing from the issuance of the FHA commitment to the Initial Endorsement. In addition to managing the overall closing process, the Team Lead's primary responsibility is seeking out opportunities for functional automation of closing processes and working with other departments on testing and implementation. All tasks are viewed with efficiency in mind and utilizing technology as much as possible to assist.

This is a fast-paced department with a high number of closings going on at any given time and the right candidate will have strong organizational skills along with outstanding attention to detail.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Review HUD commitments and work with underwriting for amendments.
• Review closing documents – this includes FHA legal documents along with all subordinate debt documents.
• Work with our attorneys to ensure all documents are accurate.
• Assist in disbursement schedules and flow of funds schedules.
• Review property taxes and insurance and prepare escrow analysis for closing.
• Prepare settlement statements and the initial draw.
• Work closely with HUD and the borrower to resolve any questions.
• Schedule pre-construction meetings with HUD for the closing.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

• Recent management experience in a team environment.
• At least 5 years of FHA closing experience is required; construction experience is a plus.
• Multifamily experience required; healthcare desired and affordable preferred.
• Knowledge of legal documents.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Experience with Salesforce.
• Organization and attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to work under time constraints.
• Superior customer service skills.
