Paralegal

An exciting opportunity has come up within the Marsh McLennan legal team for a commercial paralegal looking to develop their career within the world's leading professional services firm. You would work closely with the business and Marsh McLennan Legal team on day-to-day contractual and strategic administration matters. The position would likely be suitable for a candidate with previous experience in, or is looking to pursue a paralegal career in, commercial/contract work. You would need to be a self-starter with the ability to quickly grasp the risks, issues and opportunities faced by the organisation. Particular interest in financial services or digital solutions would be a positive.

We will count on you to:

• Draft, review and negotiate client agreements and ancillary legal documentation.
• Carry out legal research and providing legal updates to the team.
• Develop internal know-how and precedents for use, including maintaining template agreements and implementing process developments.
• Support the wider Legal team with internal projects and various contractual matters.
• Develop and assist with internal legal training and business updates.

What you need to have: 

• Document drafting and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial acumen with an ability to deliver clear and pragmatic solutions. 
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and tasks.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage expectations well.
• IT skills – experience with Microsoft Office.
• Natural enthusiasm and looking to develop a long-term career as a commercial/contracts paralegal.

What makes you stand out?

• Experience working with data protection legislation and negotiating DPAs
• Experience with legal tools
• Previous experience working in similar role.
• LLB or equivalent legal qualification.
