About The Role 

As a Senior Consultant on the Financial Services team, you will take an active role in supporting the day-to-day management of financial services client accounts focused on building and maintaining corporate reputations. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to support financial services clients and contribute to new business and FTI firm development. You will be expected to:

  • Develop and execute communications strategies to deliver results and meet client expectations
  • Draft documents for client use (including communications plans, strategy memos, press releases, interview preparation memos, client agendas, action items etc.)
  • Provide perspective to clients on internal, peer, and market developments as they pertain to the media and marketplace
  • Regularly interact with the media universe and reporters to proactively insert client messaging and key milestones

You should also have a strong interest in developing a strategic approach to communications, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and an ability to help manage junior team members as a collegial team player. You should be results-oriented and prepared to learn and use new approaches to communications as part of a leading global communications consultancy business.

What You’ll Do

  • Play an important role in the day-to-day tactical program management of multiple financial services client accounts, by working with team members to create high-quality, client-ready deliverables in a timely and efficient manner
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis via email, phone calls and in-person meetings
  • Craft narratives, press releases, and pitches that are clear, concise, and impactful
  • Write and edit a variety of materials for clients (e.g., strategy memos and plans, press releases, media pitches, web content, social media content, media and measurement trackers etc.)
  • Master an understanding of client information, including business strategy, services, stakeholders, key audiences and the competitive landscape
  • Assist with ongoing program measurement, KPI’s and monthly, quarterly and annual report development
  • Maintain solid relationships with clients and identify emerging opportunities to add more value
  • Develop plans for business development, with particular emphasis on driving new business efforts within the Financial Services sector
  • Participate in new business pursuits, which could include conducting research, developing proposals and pitching FTI’s services
  • Consistently seek ways to improve client service
  • Support the development, production and marketing of thought leadership surrounding emerging trends and issues
  • Help to mentor and provide constructive feedback for interns and other junior team members
  • Identify resource needs and work with managers to assign individual and group responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and asks the necessary questions to manage firm and client data responsibly

What You Will Need To Succeed  

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of agency or in-house experience
  • B.S. degree or higher in English, journalism, marketing, public relations, corporate communications or related field
  • Ability to travel to client and FTI office(s) as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of driving corporate communications programs for regional, national and international financial services industry clients
  • Experience in the financial / professional services sector
  • Strong media relations experience, working with regional, trade and top-tier national financial services industry media
  • Experience with issues management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the key trends moving business, politics and society and a passion for always learning more
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and set priorities
