As a Business Continuity Manager II within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

• Oversees a team who monitors PNC events (Technology-related) and local, state, national and global events that could affect the banks operations and safety to employees (civil, political, economic and natural). Assess hazards and prepares plans
• Assess all hazards to PNC and prepares plans and resources to respond to events, emergencies and disasters in order to minimize risk to people, property and adverse customer impacts.
• This team, in conjunction with others, will coordinate and execute the response needed for 24x7 support.
• A successful candidate will have experience with crisis management and life safety, technology disruptions, have strong analytical and critical thinking to lead through a crisis or event, excellent communication skills, relationship skills to work with partners, and able to provide education/training instructions and awareness for all PNC employees.

Job Description

  • Serves as the central point of contact responsible for leading the Business Continuity/Crisis plans for a large business segment or group. Responsible for the successful implementation of the organizations Business Continuity Lifecycle and / or Crisis Planning.
  • Manages a team responsible for the execution of business recovery, crisis management, emergency management, contingency planning and disaster preparedness planning and testing.
  • Provides insight to the vision and direction for business continuity lifecycle planning, including the business impact analysis, risk assessment, recovery planning and recovery testing.
  • Ensures the compliance of each aspect of business continuity. Partners with the business in relationships with audit and government regulators on business continuity issues.
  • Leads a functional area within business continuity/crisis management that drives effective recovery planning and testing of recovery and response capabilities.

Competencies

Contingency and Disaster Recovery – Knowledge of approaches, practices, tools and techniques for contingency and disaster recovery operations, and the ability to develop and execute contingency and disaster recovery plans.

Crisis Management – Knowledge of crisis management concepts and techniques; ability to predict, avert, mitigate, and recover from an event that has or could have a severely negative impact on the business.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking – Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately, and reach productive decisions.

Effective Communications – Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Flexibility and Adaptability – Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed.

Industry Knowledge – Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
