We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded professional to fill the position of Business Information Security Officer. Our BISOs collaborate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical partners from both inside and outside of the enterprise and effect change as an influence leader. The candidate will primarily be responsible for bringing business context back from business partners to the Information Security Organization as a business advocate, but will also serve as a Security Architect, Security evangelist, and in other Information Security related capacities.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with internal stakeholders and business partners with a goal of understanding business objectives, ensuring that the Information Security organization is aligned with and enables those objectives, removing cybersecurity-related obstacles from their paths.

• Collaborate with Information Security, IT, operations, risk management and other departments to ensure an integrated approach to Information Security and to influence enhancements.

• Perform security architecture reviews of systems, platforms, and other technologies and identify any related security-related business risks, making recommendations on the inclusion of appropriate cybersecurity safeguards.

• Represent Mr. Cooper and its Information Security organization by responding to exams and security surveys and through participation in in-person and virtual conversations with B2B customers who have questions about the Information Security Program.

• Stay abreast of Information Security related regulations, industry standards, best practices, business needs, and customer requirements.

• Identify and effect enhancements to the Information Security Program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, information technology, Information Security, cybersecurity or related field.

• A graduate degree in business, risk management, information technology, Information Security, cybersecurity or related field is a plus.

• Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, Google Cloud Security Engineer and equivalent certifications are a plus.

• 7+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role.

• 2+ years of experience in leadership role of technical or cybersecurity.

• Broad IT and security knowledge spanning multiple security domains supported by a wide breadth of experience, including both legacy data center technologies and current cloud-centric technologies.

• Ability to articulate technical and security topics clearly, concisely, and in the language appropriate for an audience, ranging from deeply technical language with technical experts to business-friendly with non-technical partners and executives.

• Ability to effectively influence decision makers to deploy security safeguards by relating to their motivations and objectives when articulating the business value of the security safeguards and doing so in a credible and effective manner that doesn’t require formal authority to mandate action.

• A big picture understanding of how security and business objectives interact using a long-term vision approach that isn’t sidetracked by minor technical details and the ability to prioritize execution tasks.
