Mercer Health & Benefits LLC is seeking candidates for the following position based in the New York, NY office (Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite):

Senior International Consultant II   

We will count on you to:

Manage the collection of data on client’s employee benefit plans and programs specific to inclusive benefits. Lead country-specific research related to the social, cultural, economic and regulatory environment of a country as well as support provided through government-sponsored programs. Review of proprietary Mercer research to be used in the development of a client’s global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy. Conduct complex cost calculations in relation to the cost of implementing new benefits under insurance policies, self-insured plans and captives. Lead our consulting advice on recommended global DEI strategies to our clients based on clinical research and best practices. Manage the implementation of global DEI strategies by liaising with local network of brokers and consultants. Deliver client-ready communications on technical subject matters related to DEI issues and clinical studies. Lead large and complex DEI projects. Lead the development of thought leadership in the DEI space including writing or co-writing white papers and participating in conferences. Provide mentorship to the senior and junior associates. Develop and deliver DEI specific training to the global consulting team. Develop and maintain personal and work relationships with key client stakeholders and facilitate the sharing of advice and information relevant to the client, develop new and expanded business and gain client referrals. Contribute in commercial efforts to bring in more business to Mercer through RFPs and winning new projects. Accountable for final review of deliverables to ensure that they meet client needs. Accountable for developing budgets and billing reports based on critical analysis and calculations.

What you need to have: 

Must have Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered or a related occupation. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Providing solutions for global benefits needs of multinational companies specifically around DEI; Consulting clients on global DEI employee issues and solutions; Helping organizations design and sustaining a global DEI strategy to ensure inclusive benefits for their employees around the world; Conducting research on public health provisions in multiple countries outside the United-States; Analyzing, validating and manipulating large data sets in Excel to perform complex calculations; Presenting findings in response to client/employee queries in formal and ad-hoc situations; Being responsible for client interactions and deliverables; Planning and carrying out the execution of large, global, complex projects; Managing project team members for non-US employee benefits and global DEI projects; Assigning and peer reviewing work of project team members for non-US employee benefits and DEI projects; and Establishing scope and budget for client projects based on critical analysis and calculations.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $147,000 to $244,800 per year.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
