As the Director, Government Affairs Business Liaison, you will work closely with the Technology & Products Group to provide public policy expertise and drive strategic advocacy programs for the business globally, while partnering closely with U.S. and regional Government Affairs team members around the globe to enable execution.

This role is responsible for providing mentorship, direction, and strategy for public policy, including but not limited to, tax and incentive-related processes and procedures for the Technology & Products Group at Micron.

You will partner with a cross-functional team to ensure appropriate public policy strategies and tactics are identified, appropriate business processes are implemented, and execution is coordinated across GPA team members!

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work closely and build collaborative relations with Micron Business Leaders, to include Finance, Legal and Communications, to achieve business goals.

• Advise on Micron’s tax and incentive strategy for the Technology & Products Group globally by leading key projects and forming Micron’s advocacy strategies and policy initiatives.

• Research, analyze, and report on global public policy and collaborator perspectives of interest to Micron and the semiconductor business.

• Coordinate development of policy content and documents that will be used to facilitate Micron’s engagement with collaborators.

• Develop and maintain relationships with leaders and key collaborators to advise on key decisions and public statements impacting Micron’s business.

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the business’s strategic goals and objectives, aligning tax & incentive strategic programs accordingly.

• Serve as the Government Affairs liaison for new technology & product development and provide tax & incentive mentorship and feedback as part of new product development.

• Work with counterparts in Global Communications and the Technology Products Group to draft appropriate messaging, positioning, and required disclosures.

• Work with counterparts in the Legal Compliance & Ethics team and Technology Products Group in preparing for compliance inquiries as it pertains to the government.

• Anticipate and assess opportunity, change, and potential risks in the legislative, regulatory, public policy and political realms.

Qualifications and Skills:

• BA/BS degree required.

• At least 8 years of public policy experience, a keen understanding about semiconductors, geopolitics, and tax and incentive policy.

• Driven, upbeat, and motivated professional.

• Outstanding personal, political and interpersonal skills (written, verbal and presentation).

• Ability to collaborate effectively, drive results across multi-functional groups, and work independently while providing trusted leadership to the business.

• Proven track record in the development, management and advocacy of policies and positions.

• Ability to quickly grasp various government dynamics, legislative, and regulatory issues facing Micron, its industry, and customers’ industries, and impacts on the company globally.
