Our Senior Portfolio Optimization Manager is responsible for leading the commercial execution of the Essential Dental Solutions (EDS) global portfolio optimization effort. This critical role serves as THE key link between our global brand/portfolio strategy and our go-to-market effort in every country Dentsply Sirona serves, globally. 

This high-visibility role is focused on delivering gross margin gains through optimizing and reducing the EDS SKU footprint while creating the compelling and winning portfolio essential to our long-term success. Touching or influencing virtually every element of the product and marketing mix, the successful candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating the requisite go-to-market and technical acumen necessary to lead the commercial execution of one of Dentsply Sirona’s largest enterprise initiatives. 

This strong product marketer will play a critical role in building and executing the strategy required for the continued growth and success of Dentsply Sirona’s largest business into the next decade with a particular focus on product lifecycle management, global product obsolescence, pricing, commercialization, segmentation, value strategies and process standardization. Importantly, this bold and decisive leader operates within a matrixed environment and will demonstrate extreme ownership over the program’s commercial outcomes and serve as the key liaison with our regional commercial partners, requiring excellent communication, messaging/branding and training skills. 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

• Lead SKU-level migration path mapping, staging and execution globally. 

• Build and maintain successful partnerships with regional marketing teams to ensure executional success and appropriate regionalization of global portfolio strategy. 

• Lead regional commercial migration planning, including development of migration collateral and strategy in close collaboration with regional project management teams; track and monitor progress on regional implementations. 

• Clearly and effectively communicate portfolio changes and corresponding target dates to all region commercial teams in a timely manner, ensuring the strategy is clearly understood and executed. 

• Partner with regional commercial teams to assess market barriers and contractual obligations which pose a risk to the introduction or removal of planned products lines and develop mitigation strategies to overcome these risks. 

• Drive price segmentation strategy in collaboration with central and regional teams to expand addressable market. 

• Leverage price to enhance profitability and drive customer migration behavior in alignment with portfolio strategy. 

• Lead market research activities to identify market gaps, validate our strategy/messaging and ensure customer, dealer and other third-party needs are included in our strategic decision-making process. 

• Maintain a deep understanding of required markets, including staying informed of key market, clinical and competitive trends. 

• Monitor competitive activities and adjust commercial approach to achieve optimization goals in light of evolving competitive landscape 

• Champion portfolio optimization activities across the business unit and collaborate with cross functional partners to minimize the financial risks of transitioning to a winning portfolio design. 

• Provide ongoing guidance and market insight to our operation and demand planning teams to drive accurate demand forecasting for market entry and exit with the goal of delivering adequate supply of new products while minimizing inventory wastage of legacy products. 

Lead the optimization of regional product mix, pricing/price segmentation, product lifecycle management practices, and obsolescence of existing products to streamline portfolio and optimize profitability for Dentsply Sirona. Ensure ongoing commercial success and margin expansion through strategic migrations and exits across different products globally. Assist in the development of global promotional programs, campaigns and messaging while serving as a subject matter expert for the winning portfolio team. Lead program-related global forecasting in close collaboration with cross-functional and regional marketing teams, internal financial, supply chain, QA/RA and other stakeholders. 

This highly influential role requires a strategic thinker with excellent logic and problem-solving skills who thrives in environments with high complexity. A successful candidate must have an executive presence, excellent communication skills and the ability to present a compelling case to a C-suite audience. 

Job Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, technical or related field with at least 5 years relevant experience supporting global product launches, preferably in medical device, dental or pharma industry 

• At least 5 years of product management experience within technology or product development spaces with a proven track record of taking products to the market globally 

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word  

• Ability to support and collaborate with global team members in varying time zones 

• Ability to travel international and domestic, up to 15%

• Ability to work within a team environment with extreme responsibility and limited direct authority/control 

• Ability to influence key stakeholders and tell the product and treatment solution story 

• Ability to communicate technical, dental, product and business concepts to key audiences 

• Ability to review and analyze data and tell a story that helps drive sound business decisions 

• Strong analytical, administrative and organizational skills and great attention to detail 

• Basic understanding of a Profit & Loss statement and how your role influences Company 

• Thorough understanding of executional aspects of marketing: advertising and promotion program management, product positioning, lifecycle management and/or pricing  

• Prior experience leading phase out of products within medical and/or pharmaceutical industries  

• Working knowledge of manufacturing process, planning and logistics  

• Project Management Skills:  

• Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and execute projects with  

• Very strong analytical skills, methodical and keen attention to detail  

• Works well under pressure in a dynamic environment  

• Demonstrated ability to learn technical products quickly  

• Strong negotiation and influence management skills  

• Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and influence across the matrix with global, regional and country partners
