The Challenge

As Director of DataGuidance Global Research team, you will be a key leader with expertise in Privacy and AI governance, Security, and Ethics/ESG. You have an entrepreneurial ability to translate regulatory change into significant business impact projects.  With legal expertise, your role will be instrumental leading the creation of tools, resources, whitepapers, reports, and know-how articles, as well as responding to client queries, providing product feedback, public speaking and ensuring operational efficiency.  It’s essential that you are familiar with privacy law and AI governance in order to provide high quality projects, reports and publications. 

In this position you will report to the Chief Trust Architect. Your work location will be hybrid with the ability to travel to our US Hub office in Atlanta and other Hub or field offices as required.

Your Mission

  • Lead the Research and monitor regulatory developments and key drivers for practitioners in the fields of Privacy and AI governance, Security, and Ethics/ESG.  
  • Lead department in the creation of new tools, resources and products to support OneTrust DataGuidance's clients as well as the CoEs and OT internally.  
  • Identify new opportunities to leverage technology, such as AI, to allow team members to focus on high value work and to enable new customer experiences. 
  • Ensure regulatory updates and reports from leads and analysts are accurate. 
  • Advance the house style and editorial process to meet customer needs.  
  • Manage response to client requests.  
  • Report on and share data regarding global developments across business functions.  
  • Ensure support positioning and messaging through a thorough understanding of the product, data privacy industry, audience and key competitors.  
  • Lead OneTrust DataGuidance team to keep it at the forefront of customer requests, industry trends, competitive landscape and continually improve our core product offering.  

You Are

  • Advanced degree in law, politics or any other humanities-based degrees.  
  • Minimum 12+ years privacy / data protection experience / knowledge. 
  • Prior 7+ years experience managing a team   
  • 5+ years of it focusing on data protection and/or AI.  
  • Legal research experience and writing and proofreading skills.  
  • Previous privacy / data protection /security experience / knowledge.  
  • Experience leveraging AI tools.  
  • Experience with project management and project management tooling.  
  • Comfort and experience with presenting at online and in person events  
  • Comfort and experience with supporting sales calls/questions  
  • Experience managing projects and be able to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Strong analytical skills and be able to analyze data and draw insights from it. 
  • Able to provide examples of published work covering the topic of privacy/ethics/security/ESG. 

For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.

Salary Range

$165,000—$247,500 USD

  • Location-flex: Similar to other companies’ remote policies, for OneTrust “Location-flex" roles, you will primarily work from your home office location. However, you may be required to travel to our OneTrust offices or customer sites periodically based on the nature of your role.
