A Glimpse of the Role

Job Overview: You will lead the strategic plan & roadmap to select and deploy cutting-edge advanced manufacturing technologies and implement “best practices” throughout the global network of Vertiv manufacturing sites. You will include a Key Focus on Additive Manufacturing process/tools/technology & provide thought leadership. You will ensure that there is consistency in the way all manufacturing technology projects are scoped, procured, executed, and sustained across plants. You will drive the research & development of advanced technologies & strategic initiatives that align with Vertiv’s long term growth plans while maximizing the ROI to improve operational performance (SQDC) at Vertiv manufacturing sites.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Present thought leadership with the Additive Manufacturing offering and process innovation to drive a world class 3D printing operation;
  • Drive operational excellence, process optimization, and innovation in our manufacturing processes by introducing the latest manufacturing technologies that enhance our ability to scale global capacity & create additional competitive advantages;
  • Drive Design for Automation & Design for Test process creation & continuous improvement within Vertiv’s NPDI process;
  • Drive advanced manufacturing technology & test platform strategic initiatives and roadmap creation to support Vertiv’s 3-5 year growth plans. What technologies, where to deploy them globally and when;
  • Lead a team of automation engineers, software engineers, test engineers & manufacturing technology engineers to execute on the strategies defined;
  • Create a structured methodology to enable the way we research, scope, standardize, procure, execute, and sustain advanced manufacturing technologies & test platforms across plants globally. 

In order to be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Automation technology, Advanced manufacturing or related;
  • Experience: over 10 years;
  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing; 
  • Exposure to multiple technology platforms (HP MJF, Carbon DLS, Stratasys FDM, DMLS are a plus); 
  • Experience and knowledge of lean principles (Kaizan, 5S, A3, value stream mapping, etc.);
  • Must have a strong desire to improve operational performance through a hands-on engaged leadership approach at the floor level; 
  • Strong experience developing and being accountable to metrics and change management/process improvement initiatives;
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence and process improvements;
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in advanced manufacturing;
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams;
  • Expertise in implementing advanced manufacturing technologies + automation and processes.
