Manager/Senior Manager, Workforce Services (Payroll and HRIS)

The Workforce Services Manager will be in charge of the full spectrum of payroll, HRIS and employee service delivery for approximately 1,500 employees in Sun Pharma North America.  Leads a team that supports enterprise applications in Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.  This person should be well versed in systems to support Payroll, Employee Data Management, Time Management, Benefit Management, Talent and Performance, Compensation and able to partner with HR leadership to prioritize business needs. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accurate processing, audit and delivery of bi-weekly payroll for multiple payroll codes including salary, hourly, bonus/commission, allowances, overtime, special pays etc. in approximately 45 states
  • Ensure operational excellence in delivery of all employee support, services and internal stakeholder partnership
  • Motivate, engage and manage team ensuring ongoing training, development and performance in performing duties
  • Create and implement procedures and practices within the Workforce Services department
  • Ensuring all relevant payroll records and data are reported and stored in an appropriate manner
  • Processing benefits uploads (401K, benefits, HSA, FSA, etc.)
  • Conducting reviews and audits of various state and federal payroll, benefit and tax requirements to ensure company compliance
  • Experience with varied bonus and compensation structures
  • Define and deliver data reporting strategy for various members of the HR and finance teams, auditors, etc., meeting all internal, customer and statutory requirements
  • Manage and ensure timely response to employee questions from employees regarding pay, banking changes, employment verifications, etc.
  • Proactive engagement in new trends, updated compliance and forward thinking payroll processing and systems
  • Process improvement, and ability to leverage systems to drive efficiency and scale
  • Active engagement in company-driven system integration/implementation initiatives
  • Oversee the review, testing and implementation of system enhancements, implementations/configuration changes, including maintenance of system tables, system audits, security access, data compliance/operations, and integrity.
  • Lead team in managing data, system upgrades, testing configuration, data feeds, reporting and auditing.
  • Manage and oversee ongoing maintenance and function of global HRIS system including various interfaces in SuccessFactors, SAP and other systems. 
  • Proactively identify and resolving HRIS issues, gaps, and process flaws and recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements
  • Provide direction, supervision, and security to all aspects of the process involving employee data, personnel files, HRIS systems.
  • Create and roll-out company standard process documents as it relates to payroll narrative, data entry standards. 
  • Ensure services are in compliance with professional standards and state and federal regulatory requirements related to record-keeping and reporting
  • Develop complex custom reporting and presentation of employee statistics as needed including but not limited to special projects, attrition, surveys, etc.

Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in managing payroll function for mid-to-large size entities
  • Strong technical skills with Payroll, HRIS and reporting experience (SuccessFactors, SAP, UltiPro)
  • Solid experience with multi-state payroll admin, payroll law and compliance
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong MicroSoft Office skills, specifically intermediate+ MicroSoft Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset
  • In-office presence at least 3 days/week

Preferred:

  • Professional payroll or systems certifications
