Responsibilities

Global Fund Banking Relationship Managers are responsible for new business development and expansion of existing relationships, as well as, delivering a wide range of banking solutions for Private Equity Firms. In addition to managing a portfolio of client relationships, there is an expectation to maintain a strong prospect list and relationships with other centers of influence in the respective market.

Key job functions include but are not limited to maintaining overall general management responsibility of their respective client portfolio and ensure planning for lifecycle of client business needs. Independently prospect and develop new client relationships, ensuring all prospects in target market are identified and covered. Positions entire SVB platform of products, including debt, treasury, foreign exchange, and private bank. Acts as an overall brand ambassador for SVB. In conjunction with Portfolio Management team, manages a portfolio of loans that requires ongoing monitoring and occasional restructuring. Evaluates client relationships to ensure SVB has relationships with decision makers.

Partners and provides leadership, mentorship and coaching to other members of the Global Fund Banking team including Relationship Advisors and Portfolio Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8-10 years of Portfolio and Relationship Management experience or High School Diploma/GED with 12-14 years of experience.

Preferred:

• Highly skilled at building and growing relationships as well as, developing and driving new business opportunities in the market.

• Strong understanding of the capital structure of Private Equity Firms

• Strong negotiation skills, communication skills and ability to engage with clients effectively and independently.  

• Proven ability to maintain an extensive network of business relationships, including the executive management of clients, prospects, referral sources, and other influential relationships in market.

• Adept at building, managing, and scaling a business

• Ability to manage and provide guidance to less experienced staff members, enabling them to show improved efficiency and effectiveness.
