The Manager Control Assessment (MCA) Training and Communications Lead will be a critical member of the MCA Insights and Governance Team in the Central Controls MCA Team. The Central Controls MCA team owns the enterprise-wide framework and execution of the MCA program. The Business Risk and Control Sr Officer I is a strategic professional  whose primary focus is on ensuring that the MCA methodologies/requirements are well understood by the firm. Excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the rollout of the Training and Communication program within the required timeframe.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with colleagues across all elements of the MCA program to design a cohesive end to end training and communication plan.
  • Partner with internal subject matter MCA experts to build learning solutions that meet targeted outcomes.
  • Working with the MCA CCO Training Team, coordinate and ensure the timely creation and delivery of training content modules to the Central Controls Training team.
  • Working with the Central Controls Training team, play a key team role in the rollout / delivery of each training module and related communications.
  • Manage the upkeep of the Training Inventory and support the project management of the training rollout.
  • Oversee the implementation of the training program across businesses and functions, coordinating the change and finding solutions to challenges in implementation.
  • Report on progress and represent the program across Citi’s governance structures.
  • Lead Training Squad compiled of multiple Business / Function Training Leads, communicating progress and seeking their engagement.
  • Work with Management on governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e..Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.
  • Take ownership to identify, assess, record and response to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring these are captured accurately, timely and in accordance with requirements.
  • Take ownership to ensure that risk and control responsibilities and accountabilities are embedded within FLUs, including providing training and leading by example.
  • Assist management in guiding and influencing standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
  • Apply knowledge of the business, products or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Experienced Operational Risk practitioner with First Line or Second Line experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives or roll out Training programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.  Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive.
  • Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively. Self-starting with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, listen and work well with others. Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills and experience
  • Well organized, detail oriented and able to be organized and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Client-focused and open to different ideas/viewpoints
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability, lateral thinking.

Education:

Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
