The Compensation Manager will facilitate the company’s compensation strategies, processes and protocols. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining competitive and equitable compensation programs in alignment with the organization’s goals and competitive pay practices. The Manager will work closely with the HR team and other departments to ensure consistency, compliance, and the smooth operation of the compensation department. This job reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is an integral member of the HR Leadership Team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive compensation plans, including salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs to attract, motivate, and retain talent
- Conduct market analyses and benchmark compensation data to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards
- Oversee job evaluations and classifications, ensuring consistency and alignment with company policies and legal requirements
- Manage the annual salary review process, including merit increases, promotions, and adjustments
- Provide guidance to HR and management on compensation-related issues
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation, including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, and other relevant laws
- Provide regular reporting and analysis of compensation data and make data-driven recommendations for compensation strategies, insight and adjustments
- Ensure accurate and timely input of compensation changes into the HRIS and manage data audits and clean-up initiatives to maintain high-quality information and data integrity
- Supervise and mentor staff within the compensation department, providing guidance, performance management, and development opportunities
- Work closely with HR leadership and other departments to ensure alignment of compensation initiatives with organizational goals
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation management/total rewards
- Experience with HRIS systems required
- Strong proficiency in compensation analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of compensation regulations, compliance standards, and market analysis techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills required with the ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences and build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity in managing sensitive and confidential employee information
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent internal customer service to HR staff, management, and employees
- Proactively seek out opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance compensation practices
