This role is responsible for developing and nurturing positive working relationships with international customers and distributors by working to drive increased sales in different countries. Responsible for promoting Alchemee products to international customers, developing and nurturing current customer business, and working with distributors to drive increased business and leverage portfolio expansion opportunities, excluding the U.S., Canada and Japan.

Duties and responsibilities

Strategy

  • Identify additional international markets to expand the brand to based on strategic thinking, marketplace data and brand fit. Analyze marketplaces and competition to develop and execute plans to promote future sales growth.
  • Identify and build relationships with additional international customers and distributors to expand sales internationally.
  • Work with existing international customers and distributors and the Alchemee business team to expand the current portfolio.
  • Develop and complete sales business plan for optimal activity and employ effective selling model and techniques aligning to current strategies set forth by leadership.
  • Evaluate and recommend any improvements to the distribution channel development programs.  Oversee any system evaluations and program implementation that are necessary to reach business objectives.
  • Investigate, resolve and respond to customer inquiries about pricing.
  • Plan and execute a moderately complex sales process, actively partner with distributors to cultivate existing relationships, and drive increased sales volume and retention.

Operations

  • Develop and adhere to a sales forecast per customer in conjunction with Supply Chain, business team and customers & distributors. Responsible for all sales, forecasting, planning of future goals, and budgetary aspects of assigned territories to maximize gross margin and net international sales.
  • Represent the brand internationally, articulate the quality, efficacy, effectiveness and consumer experience of the Alchemee product portfolio and competitor products, utilizing established relationships and ongoing interactions to sustain trust and deliver value with all relevant business contacts.
  • Participate in key customer negotiations, along with the Head of Business and Legal –e.g. contract negotiations.
  • Share proposed materials from customers/distributors with Brand team to ensure brand alignment.
  • Actively work with international customers and distributors to obtain timely POs, payments and pickups.
  • Closely collaborate with Supply Chain for demand planning, POs and shipments.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and Legal to ensure compliance with International and US regulations.
  • Lead the preparation and present the necessary reporting requirements in the areas of logistics, returns, EDI, forecasting, etc., to the Executive Management team.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Creative Packaging and Product Innovation teams to provide international customers and distributors with materials needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date database to document account sales call information, trends, future account sales call objectives and overall account performance.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7-10 years relevant international sales experience, including travel and meeting international customers.
  • Consumer brand industry experience, specifically in the skincare, beauty or similar, is required.
  • Experience with international sales customer and/or distributor account management.
  • Strong business acumen with the demonstrated ability to scan the external environment, analyze market trends, and leverage internal and external networks.
  • Customer orientation and ability to effectively manage relationships.
  • Ability to apply product knowledge, articulate marketing messaging and reframe conversations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with strong active listening skills, insightful questioning, and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency, takes initiative, and gains commitment.
  • Travel may be required up to 30% of time.

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $156,500 to $191,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
