Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions (EDDS) creates unified digital experiences for prospects and members across the entire customer lifecycle, powered by data and supports AXP growth by designing best-in-class digital & data capabilities and platforms.

EDDS is seeking a Sr Manager, Control Management to support change management associated with the implementation of a new 1LoD operational risk management framework and operating model. This role with collaborate across Control Management pillars & with EDDS leaders, and stakeholders across business units and lines of defense.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Support EDDS Sr Leadership and Control Management (CM) leadership define, evolve and enhance of our first line operational risk model for the business unit.

• In collaboration with CM leadership and Process Owners, clearly define roles and responsibilities, and help to identify product owned risk functions, training and operating model that balances risk management with operational efficiency.

• Oversee execution plans of operational risk management framework within the business unit (BU), including BU specific guidelines, project plans, etc.

• Track status of milestones and deliverables across workstreams, run flawless communication forums, impact assessment, resource requirement, stakeholder coordination, funding needs, prioritization, etc.

• Support implementation of key areas training initiatives that align with Operational Risk Management.

• Support sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise

• Foster a culture of risk awareness and ongoing improvement within the team and the broader organization.

Required Qualifications:  

• 4+ Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities

• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards

• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous

• Experience in at least one of the following: 

o   Translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines

o   Review the tracking and identifying of issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds

o   Oversee the implementation of the operational risk governance frameworks 

o   Communicating and ensuring understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards 

o   Manage the operational risk exam management processes

• Experience in financial services industry, preferably within a globally systemically important bank (G-SIB)

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
