American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) enables businesses globally to pay for and finance what they need to grow their businesses. GCS provides a suite of payment and lending products, solutions for travel and everyday business spending, cross border payments, global currency solutions, and business financing.

As part of GCS Product, the Business Operations team supports product operations, customer experience, controls, and risk governance. We are focused on delivering great product experiences in the right way with the appropriate level of risk and oversight. We partner closely with Control Management in the First Line of Defense.
About the Role:
The Senior Manager, Digital Product Operations will partner with the Corporate Program Product Management team with their Go to Market (GTM) planning to develop and launch a fully integrated Card + Expense Management solution. The Senior Mgr will provide PMO support to the risk and controls workstream and devise the plan to uplift the operational environment to meet Amex control and risk governance standards. The successful candidate will develop a deep knowledge of Expense Management product experiences and operational processes and be a key player in driving a core GCS product growth strategy.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Digital Product Operations will:
• Lead PMO activities to support the risk and controls workstream for Expense Management POA solution to ensure appropriate governance, risk identification, and controls development
• Consult with business partners (Product, LOBCO, GCO, Control Mgmt, etc.) to meet relevant AEMP Policy
• Facilitate interactions between Product and key partners across functional teams (e.g. GCO, Compliance, OE) to help drive issue resolution and decision making
• Maintain structure and governance around managing and tracking the delivery of requirements, maintaining accountability across requirement owners, and ensuring action items are delivered in its entirety and in a timely fashion
• Review and advise on detailed reports on issue status, trends, and outcomes to senior management and governance committees
• Support sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise
• Aid the establishment of a product roadmap and goals linked to enterprise priorities
• Evaluate and assist with prioritization of feature enhancements and product backlog while balancing the needs of customers and internal/external partners
• Proactively communicate risks, dependencies, and key changes to leadership, team members and key partners
• Maintain pulse on external trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging technology to evolve and further innovate our products
Required Qualifications:
• Experience working in either an operational excellence, control, operations, audit, banking or risk role or other relevant experience, preferably with a deep understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
• Experience managing large cross-functional and complex initiatives
• Strong project management skills (ability to balance multiple priorities with close attention to detail and deliver high quality output)
• Must be highly organized and structured individual with an ability to demonstrate attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, resourcefulness, and efficiency
• Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
• Experience in at least one of the following:
o Experience working in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment, developing relationships across organizational boundaries and influencing without direct authority
o Ability to effectively prioritize and drive strong results with limited resources
o Working with product, risk, and compliance functions and have a knowledgeable understanding of the various risks and regulatory obligations of American Express
o Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to translate unstructured information to a structured, actionable plan
o Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications (e.g., CAPM, PMP) are advantageous
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
