Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Vice President (SVP) Controller to join our finance team. The SVP Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, with a particular focus on public filings and compliance for a publicly traded company. This role requires a strong leader with excellent analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial principles and practices, as well as experience with SEC reporting and SOX compliance. 

Core Job Duties 

  • Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. 
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. 
  • Manage the preparation and filing of all required SEC reports, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings. 
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure SOX compliance. 
  • Oversee and drive key projects for Finance, including standard costing, intercompany standardization, and other cost analysis projects to support ERP implementation 
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support decision-making. 
  • Support finance integration projects; lead integration of new acquisitions for certain accounting areas, carveouts and divestitures 
  • Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. 
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements. 
  • Support the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members. 

Required Experience, Education and Skills  

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification required. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. 
  • Public company experience required. 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. 
  • Proven experience in SEC reporting and SOX compliance. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Knowledge of ERP systems. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
