As part of the Global Equities Prime Services technology team, an opportunity exists for a senior level JAVA/SQL developer to work on the firm’s global equities Margin calculation systems using SS&C Syncova. The system aims to implement Syncova as a margin calculation platform, initially for Global Swap business and Cash Prime Services as phase 2.
The candidate will require significant experience with SS&C Syncova, have a strong understanding of US equity market structures and a proven track record of delivering high quality software. Experience in working with SS&C Geneva will be a big plus.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate good analytical skills, strong software engineering skills and a logical approach to problem solving.
The ideal candidate should have experience with Agile Development Techniques, Unit/System Testing and Performance Tuning.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Develop and implement margin calculation rules into Syncova for Prime Services Swap Desk
- Efficiently building out margin calculator for various regions, product types for the Swaps platform
- Day to day support ingestion of various feeds like Account hierarchy, Security Master, EOD Pricing, Holdings, Market Data into Syncova
- Be able to extract data out of the Syncova platform into a Data Warehouse for distribution to clients, fund administrators and various downstream applications
- Be able to develop reports in Crystal Reports or on a similar platform
- Will have direct communication with Swaps, Operations, middle office as well as various internal technology teams
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Well-rounded individual capable of contributing to all aspects of the life cycle of a development project from analysis and design through daily production support
- Solid experience with Java, JDBC
- Solid experience with Linux, Shell Scripting
- Solid experience with SQL, Proficient in coding business logic in SQL stored procedures, functions and triggers
- Minimum 10 years programming experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial industry required.
- Candidates should also have excellent verbal and written communications skills and good attention to detail.
Additional Skills / Good to Have:
- Experience working with Market Data, Bloomberg
- Experience with Swaps
- Experience with SS&C Geneva
- Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Computer Science. Advanced degree is a plus but not required.
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $125,000-180,000.
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
