Manager, Accounting/Financial Analysis

Manages activities associated with ensuring the accuracy of ledger accounts and developing financial statements and reports. Produces and analyzes financial reports including SEC and regulatory reports. Assists with meeting objectives related to financial reporting, analysis and technical accounting.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely and accurate filing of required SEC and regulatory reports
• Prepares and/or reviews items to support earnings release and conferences.
• Direct communication/liaison with external auditors and regulators for requests, questions, issues, etc.
• Prepares and/or reviews analyses and other information to support the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors.
• Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Prepares, maintains, analyzes and reports on organizational, business unit or departmental budgets as requested.
• Prepares cash flow statement and EPS calculation. Prepares and/or reviews required regulatory filings. Prepares and/or reviews required disclosures to support SEC filings.
• Assists with projects relating to mergers and acquisition activity and related accounting due diligence, accounting, reporting, and SOX requirements.
• Ensures compliance with accounting, regulatory, and reporting standards. Assists team with the research and documentation of technical and regulatory accounting issues as they arise in support of the organization.
• Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources/Manager regarding employee relations, training, and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience:

• 5 years of professional accounting experience.

Certifications or License

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Understanding of accounting theory, current accounting issues, accounting systems, and regulatory reporting/instructions.
• Solidfoundation in U.S. GAAP accounting, SEC reporting, and regulatory reporting as applicable
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong attention to details
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency using applicable accounting/regulatory/financial software products
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products including advanced proficiency with Excel

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Banking industry financial reporting experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) desired
• Public accounting experience preferred
