The Fidelity Corporate Tax Department is seeking a Vice President & Senior Tax Counsel to join the Tax Planning team, reporting to the Head of Tax Planning. As an integral member of the Tax Department, the VP will manage diverse tax advisory and structuring projects, working closely with colleagues throughout the Tax organization to develop tax-efficient solutions, achieve tax certainty, and mitigate tax risk. The VP & Senior Tax Counsel will evaluate relevant legislative and regulatory changes to U.S. and foreign tax laws, advising on the impacts to Fidelity’s businesses and developing strategic responses. The VP & Senior Tax Counsel will also have opportunities to advise on tax dispute resolution matters as they arise.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in corporate and international taxation to apply to a wide range of transactional projects, including financings, restructurings, joint ventures, acquisitions, and dispositions.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
• J.D. with 10+ years of relevant Big 4, law firm, and/or industry experience as a practicing attorney
• Extensive experience advising on and resolving complex transactional tax matters in a variety of substantive areas
• Exceptional judgment in assessing risk and managing uncertainty
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to develop solutions and manage transactions
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment that requires management of competing priorities
• Excellent advocacy skills
• Effective communication and presentation skills
The Team
The Fidelity Corporate Tax Department is composed of more than 50 tax professionals who advise on and support tax matters across the Fidelity organization.
The base salary range for this position is $123,000-$207,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
