Summary:
Drives the architecture, implementation, and optimization of networking systems within Summa's IT department. This role is vital in enhancing Summa’s network infrastructure, ensuring robust and efficient network performance to support patient care and administrative applications. Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure, the Technical Lead will collaborate with various IT teams, clinical departments, and external vendors to deliver high-quality networking solutions. The position requires strong mentoring and technical leadership skills, a deep understanding of networking technologies, and the ability to act as the topic lead and escalation point for a team of network engineers.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:
a) Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

2. Experience & Training Required:
a) Eight (8) years of experience in networking roles, with a proven track record in network architecture and managing complex network infrastructures, preferably in a healthcare setting.
b) Strong experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Azure Networking, and other enterprise networking equipment and software.
c) Track record of implementing, managing, improving network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a) In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, design, and implementation.
b) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
c) Familiarity with healthcare regulations related to patient data and privacy, such as HIPAA.
d) Proficient in creating technical documentation, including network diagrams and architecture designs.
e) Excellent communication and technical leadership skills, capable of guiding and mentoring a team of network engineers.
f) Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
g) PC proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.).

4. Level of Physical Demands:
a) Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
