Role description
The purpose of the Senior Pricing Analyst is to carry out detailed and sophisticated analysis in order to support the Underwriting and Technical function in achieving the underwriting performance metrics detailed in the Corporate Plan. The Senior Pricing Analyst will be constantly seeking to innovate across all aspects of pricing, including data, software tooling, technical approaches and the best means of collaboration with other teams to deliver our pricing sophistication to market.
***We are currently looking for 3 Senior Pricing Analysts:
Senior Pricing Analyst – Radar
• Mapping existing UK rating algorithms into a Group Radar approach so that we can harmonise our rates across all Group operating entities.
• Analysing the impact of moving rates from UK rating engine into the Group Radar model. Presenting the impact analysis to colleagues and eventually to senior stakeholders for sign off.
• Supporting integration of an Uw front end with the new Group Radar. Will include significant integration testing e.g. comparing xmls of interim values against expected values to identify integration errors.
• Deployment support in a project environment e.g. producing test packs and working with the team to ensure they are correctly keyed in.
Senior Pricing Analyst – Technical
• Play a leading role in the development and enhancement of our pricing models
• Contribute to the development of pricing structures and strategies to achieve growth and profitability objectives
• Ensuring technical components delivered meet Allianz Group Technical Excellence standards and enable our Pricing capabilities to become ‘certified’
• Driving innovation and an increased sophistication into our Pricing approach, including managing projects to provide new insight through additional data sources
• Share and promote knowledge, skills and best working practices within the team
Senior Pricing Analyst – Radar Commercial Motor
• Analyse the performance of existing models and suggest improvements to the Pricing Model
• Analyse the impact of model adaptions and pricing changes and clearly present the impact analysis to colleagues and senior stakeholders for sign off
• Create efficiencies in existing ongoing process to ensure a credible and consistent approach for day to day work. Use your experience to assist in the development of junior analysts
• Design and run testing of price changes and their movement into a production environment. Support the deployment of new rates into the business by utilising existing data assets and Radar projects to ensure suitable testing coverage. Take the lead in driving deadlines on price changes managing external resource and testing teams
• Relevant Underwriting Academy experience or understanding of the UK Motor Insurance market is desirable
Key accountabilities
• Sources and processes appropriate pricing data (internal and external) into a format suitable for analysis.
• Develops new and innovative pricing models and algorithms in order to place the Company at the forefront of sophistication in the marketplace.
• Monitors and controls existing pricing structures within the relevant pricing platforms where appropriate.
• Where relevant to the role, represents the team in relevant cross-functional forums and acts as the team lead on projects to develop and deploy more sophisticated, rating engines, algorithms and pricing data sets.
• Collaborates with stakeholders in rating systems delivery to ensure an efficient and accurate implementation of products and rating to market.
• Contributes to the content of formal meetings by performing analysis, preparing results and presenting results as required.
• Carries out peer review of work carried out by other analysts and coaches less experienced analysts in order to support their technical development.

• Interprets rules and guidelines properly to support decisions.
• Full working knowledge of tools appropriate to lines of business worked on (e.g. MS Excel, VBA and SAS (Enterprise Guide and/or Base), Willis Towers Watson Emblem, Classifier and Radar, Micro-strategy).
• Relevant Underwriting Academy modules completed or working towards.
• Financial Principles and Pricing Techniques completed or working towards.
• Progression towards ACII qualification or actuarial qualification.
• Experience in training and coaching junior team members in analysis and use of analysis software.
