The Senior Director, Omnichannel Lead is responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhances customer engagement and improves efficiency through a scalable roadmap of capabilities. This leadership role serves as the commercial lead, collaborating with Brand Teams, Field Sales, Commercial Operations, IT, Data & Analytics, Medical, Compliance, and Legal to integrate Omnichannel initiatives across Alkermes.

This role guides cross-functional teams and partners to create data-driven, customer-centric experiences while driving change management and adoption. The goal is to deliver the right content to the right customer at the right time through the most effective channel, optimizing engagement and business impact while improving our efficiency and use of technology across the portfolio.

Alkermes has recently adopted a hybrid working environment to support and meet the needs of employees and this role will operate in a flexible environment with 60% of time in the office and 40% from home.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Capability Building: Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year Omnichannel strategy to enhance customer engagement and improve efficiency, integrating emerging trends and innovative approaches that drive business success.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Collaboration: Ensure seamless coordination across departments by aligning Omnichannel initiatives with organizational goals, brand priorities, and customer needs, fostering a unified and customer-centric approach.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Provide coaching, mentorship, and strategic direction to internal teams, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence in Omnichannel execution.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Optimization: Establish best-in-class operational standards to enhance efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of Omnichannel programs, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Performance Measurement & ROI Optimization: Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and implement ROI measurement frameworks, leveraging data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate effectiveness, refine strategies, and maximize impact.
  • Best Practices & Standardization: Develop and implement standardized templates, guidelines, and playbooks to ensure consistent execution of Omnichannel initiatives while allowing for adaptability to business needs.
  • Customer-Centric Innovation & Engagement: Continuously explore and implement engagement techniques (e.g., AI-driven personalization, automation, omnichannel orchestration) to elevate customer experiences and drive meaningful interactions.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making & Insights Utilization: Analyze market trends, customer behaviors, competitive activities, and performance data to refine and optimize Omnichannel strategies, ensuring agility in response to market dynamics and customer expectations.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Provide comprehensive training, workshops, and best practice sharing.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in Commercial functions; proven multichannel marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and implementing programs and process improvements
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Omnichannel marketing principles & solutions
  • Ability to develop strategic plans, develop solutions, and operationalize
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills across all levels of an organization
  • People leadership
  • Ability to champion strategic change initiatives and promote innovation
  • Experience in managing vendors and external business partners
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel <15%
