We are looking for a Regional Head of Data, North America, based in New York  

Your Team  

The Chief Technical Office is responsible for working with technical functions including Pricing, Product Management, Underwriting Integrity, Reinsurance, Portfolio and Accumulation Steering including Catastrophe Management, and Risk Consulting to ensure we are building Technical Excellence across our North America region, and in alignment with the overall global approach. 

The Impact You Will Have 

Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, NA, you are responsible for playing a leading role in enabling and implementing the Allianz Commercial North America data and analytics strategy. You will develop a strategic vision for data in Allianz Commercial NA involving understanding, connecting, and managing our many data sources to drive ease of use across the business and strengthen data-driven decision making. This includes follow through and change management across all LoBs and functional areas, as well communicating updates to the CTO and conducting related management reporting. You will also work closely with global Chief Data Office, and act as a lead for implementing global data solutions in NA. You will measure performance through related KPIs, as well as working actively to improve our overall tools and processes.  

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

• Developing and delivering the North America data and analytics vision and strategy, including implementing a data management and governance framework that is in alignment with global data initiatives, tools, and other areas. 

• Collaborating and coordinating across LoBs, cross-functional and cross-geographical AGCS Board and senior level management to strengthen data-driven decision making. 

• Conducting an assessment of North America's current data sources for quality and accuracy. 

• Implementing changes to strengthen data harmonization and facilitating ease of use across the organization, including connecting varying data sources and aligning on key definitions globally and locally.  

• Closely cooperating with the global Chief Data Office on implementation of global data tools in NA. 

• Strengthening technology solutions to support the overall vision and strategy. 

• Providing guidance to data analysts and people working with data structures across the organization regarding data sources and data usage.  

• Activating and leveraging existing resources across the business to develop cross-collaboration and managing relationships to enable diverse groups to collaborate and achieve sustainable outputs. 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in P&C insurance/reinsurance, including underwriting, critical insurer financials, pricing, and reserving; 

• Experience with strategy and/or business development in underwriting or a different functional area; 

• Experience developing and delivering a data and analytics vision and strategy, including implementing a data management and governance framework; 

• Strong project management skills, including change management and quality management; 

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to develop and positively influence key, strategic position holders across locations and functions; and 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics or IT (graduate degree a plus). 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $139,738 - $217,550. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
